My wife and I enjoy attending concerts and other events in and around San Antonio, and we love it when friends join us. We especially love it when the events are inexpensive, or better yet,
USAA Creating Jobs Downtown San Antonio
Local leaders have negotiated a $6 million incentive package with USAA that promises to expand its workforce in San Antonio and bring 2,000 employees to the city center — the area’s single-largest infusion of jobs in the heart of downtown.
Under a plan called “Project Blue” USAA would add 1,500 new jobs in San Antonio and move 2,000 office workers to its downtown buildings in exchange for $6 million in forgivable loans and tax breaks that would cover a portion of the company’s $70 million investment.
City Manager Sheryl Sculley said in a news release “Moving 2,000 jobs downtown is a game changer for the community,”
“Suffice it to say these are corporate jobs,” Jenna Saucedo-Herrera, president and CEO of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, said in an interview.
